Yesterday, we got to see Horned Grebe #25-0222 return home! This bird had mistaken a parking lot for a body of water and crash-landed. Grebes can only take flight from the water, so it had become stranded and was being attacked by crows. Fortunately, the grebe was rescued and brought to our Center, and it wasn't injured. After a short stay, we were able to release it at the Maury River in Lexington. It was a bit cold for us, but the grebe dove right in! | Wildlife Center of Virginia
