Hello Drummers, please join me in remembering the great Claude Hudson "Butch" Trucks today. Born on May 11, 1947 "Butch" was one of the drummers and founding members of The Allman Brothers Band. He formed The Allman Brothers Band in 1969, along with Duane Allman (guitar), Gregg Allman (vocals and organ), Dickey Betts (guitar), Berry Oakley (bass), and fellow drummer Jai Johanny Johanson. (May 11th, 1947 - January 24th, 2017) Butch was best known as a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band. He was one of two drummers in the band which included Jai Johanny Johanson as the second drummer. Butch laid down the backbeat, while Jai added a more Jazzy vibe to the music.
