Proper alignment on the step into your axel is 🔑 I could talk about axel ALL DAY! But here are SOME of the mistakes you see in the video: 1️⃣take-off edge going too far into the circle: if you’re not sure how deep your edge should be, start with a drill holding your forward edge that follows a similar direction as the circles on the ice 2️⃣free side is pulled too far back: sometimes we overdo it. We need to keep the free side pulled back but if it’s TOO much the jump can become too swingy 3️⃣sh

How to learn the axel Step 1: start with a waltz jump right into a tight backspin to feel the air position. Make sure to jump up and not too much distance.
