We're back at our newly opened rail stocking facility today to see the rails being unloaded from the wagons. The facility utilises 11 remote controlled hoists each fitted with a magnet to carefully lift the rail into place within the hub. Each lift moves 4 108m rails which have a combined weight of 24 tonnes. From storage the rails will then be ready for despatching to customers or for welding into 216m lengths. #BuildingStrongerRailways | British Steel
