Many coaches would also go against using it in the clean due to the risk of losing the bar and pulling the wrists out of position. However, using straps in a more controlled manner like the jerk dip (or even the front squat) is a good way to increase mobility while overloading the front rack. Also, this ensures that the stretch in the front rack is targeted at the elbows and shoulders and not the wrists
