Yesterday we completed the C&NW 7009's (EMD SD50) first start up since arriving at the museum. Later in the day the locomotive completed a few switch moves and took a trip on the main line. Everything ran well and we are hopeful have the unit operate this Sunday during the "Cabin Fever" event at IRM. EDIT: In reference to the smoke from the engine room, we left the inspection cover off the turbo screen to allow loose carbon chunks to blow out rather than plug up the turbo screen. That's why we o
