This is the advantage of variable taper as in C files The size of a C file 1mm up the file is a size 11 and so by passing this file through the apex you can go from size 6 to a size 11 in just the one file !! The same goes for variable tapered rotary files These create a shape which is designed to make space for the next file and so on.
