Hamelin Pool is a marine nature reserve in Shark Bay that’s known for its living stromatolites these dome shaped structures made up of microbes called cyanobacteria. Their sticky surfaces help them stick to sediment and each other, forming mats and towers. The domed shapes are shaped by currents and tides.
