‘USON’ AND ROCKFALL SHED FROM THE SUMMIT LAVA DOME OF MAYON VOLCANO LOOK: Incandescent pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) or “uson” and rockfalls continue to be shed from the summit lava dome of Mayon Volcano, flowing into the Mi-isi, Bonga, and Basud Gullies. A total of 150 rockfall events and 90 PDCs were recorded by the Mayon Volcano Network on January 9, 2026. Alert Level 3 prevails over Mayon Volcano.
