A Hawaiian monk seal physically defends her pup and injured a female swimmer at Kaimana Beach in Waikiki this morning. Witnesses say just before 8:30, the seal and her newborn pup were swimming when the swimmer came too close. They say a marine animal rescue volunteer urged the swimmer to leave the area but instead, the swimmer stayed to watch.
