The FDA could pull some popular cold and allergy medications from store shelves after the agency determined that a key ingredient doesn't actually work. Oral phenylephrine, found in over-the-counter medications such as NyQuil, Benadryl Allergy Plus Congestion and Sudafed PE, has been found to not relieve nasal congestion as advertised.
