P0444 code after replacing purge valve

P0444 code after replacing purge valve
replaced the evap purge valve on my sons 2008 jetta (2.0 ) and now it's throwing the P0444 open circuit code. I've checked and rechecked the plugs in the harness and they are tight.What am I missing?I got the valve from rock auto and it came with the short adapter harness if that is an issue.
