Shannan McMurray is on the move in her very first prosthesis! Her amputation was due to a motor vehicle accident in 2019 that resulted in severe trauma to her right ankle. Over the last four years she had numerous reconstructive surgeries to repair the damage, the most recent being a failed ankle fusion that resulted in a chronic staph infection. Shannan had her right leg amputated below-the-knee in July of 2023. As a new amputee, it is expected that her residual limb will quickly change volume
