There are push-ups and then there are PUSH-UPS!! The hand release push-up is the “great equalizer”! I don’t care how many reps you can do of a normal push-up in a single set right now…switch to the hand release version and you’ll be hard pressed to get half as many. This puts the all too often ignored rotator cuff and posterior chain muscles squarely in the mix on every rep lending some stability and balance to one of the most vulnerable joints in the body - the shoulder.
