It's been 50-years since Indonesia’s invasion of Timor-Leste. The invasion came just days after Timor-Leste declared independence following the departure of its long-time colonial master Portugal. It’s estimated more than 100-thousand Timorese died in the next few years along from conflict and famine. More died in the two decades of brutal occupation that followed.
