Officers have been doing refresher Taser training today. Taser officers must qualify to carry their Taser at least every 12 months. They must take an eye sight test, a written exam, a qualifying shoot to assess accuracy, handling and safe use of the Taser and then judgement scenarios whereby an instructor will resemble a real-life situation such as a man armed with a knife, and use of the Taser must be proportionate, justified, and necessary in the circumstances.
