Q about using the Sman micron gauge for a vacuum. While I do like the Sman and have used one for years I do not use the built in Micron guage. 1 it's best to check the vacuum farthest from the pump as possible. The manifold is so close to the pump and between the pump and the valve so it's not reading as accurate. 2 the hoses are rated to hold pressure in, not for keeping pressure out. They can oermiste under vacuum because they are not rated for vacuum. 3 the small 1/4" hoses cause a restrictio
