I used lots of glazes throughout this painting to achieve the rich fur colour. When using glazes it's really important to ensure the layers underneath are dry. Painting this Brown Bear relied on lots of layers and the use of glazes. I love using glazes to achieve the colour of my acrylic paintings. It enables me to just focus on the values and contrast. I've also used a few brushes to build up depth and more natural fur textures. However, even if there is one perfect brush, it will still create a flat painting if there are not enough layers being built up.
