Ancient Reptile Found in Snow! After a major snowstorm dumped nearly two feet of snow across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a man made a surprising discovery while shoveling his driveway. As he cleared the snow, he noticed something dark sticking out. When it moved, he realized it was a large lizard buried beneath the snow. The animal was identified as a tegu — an exotic reptile not native to New England. Cold-blooded and unable to survive freezing temperatures, the lizard was barely alive. The
