Spotlight on: MacDonald Tartan! 🔦 One of the largest clans, the family have many branches and are mentioned throughout historic Scotland. THe MacDonald's ruled the seas around scotland for almost 400 years. Somerled and his descendants were known as Lords of the Isles. It is believed that Somerled has more living descendants today than any other in history second only to Genghis Khan. The MacDonald tartan is a rich green and blue with black and a double red stripe.
