Never underestimate a zinnia! Even though this one was chopped off right at the base (thanks to cutworms) with no chance of regrowing from the roots, its drive to survive was strong and in only 8 days of sitting in water it pushed out a new set of roots! Zinnias are so hardy. They can survive and thrive in the face of so much adversity. Your zinnia heads have been drying for 2–3 weeks… now what? 🤔⬇️ Good news — you’ve got two lazy girl options! 🌸 Option 1: Pull the blooms apart now. 👉 Separate the arrow-shaped seeds from the petals(or leave petals on), let them air out a few more days, and store in labeled organza or paper bags. Option 2: Keep them as-is! 👉 Toss the whole dried head into a brown paper bag or organza pouch and store in a cool, dry place. Then in spring, just crumble the heads between your hands and sprinkle
