After 6 months of Police Academy training, "Gun & Shield Day" is both a memorable and proud day for recruits. On this day they receive their firearm and shields before officially graduating the academy. For Probationary Police Officer Senft it was a special day because he received the same shield that both his father and grandfather wore as police officers.
