It is the year 1974 and in the USA the "International Race of Champions", "IROC", was held for the first time. In the IROC, the then best Formula 1 and Indycar stars competed against each other on a completely identical Porsche 911 RS 3.0. The series was founded in 1973 by the president of the Riverside International Raceway, Les Richter, and Roger Penske. Mark Donohue won the first title in 1974. Unfortunately it should be his last victory because he died a year later in a Formula One session.
