Google Maps is becoming smarter with Gemini, with a new interactive and detailed Immersive Navigation view and Ask Maps features.

The AI-powered experience is claimed to be built on information about more than 300 million places available on Google Maps.

Google Maps will depend more heavily on artificial intelligence to help people figure out where they want to go and the best way to get there as part of a major redesign unveiled on Thursday.

The feature allows users to interact conversationally with the app, finding places such as a charging station, or available tennis court.
