Minneapolis-based Second Street Hotel Group LLC, led by Harshal Patel, purchased the Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel $7.8 million on Dec. 23. This is the third Second Street hotel sale this month.

The new 96-suite SpringHill Suites by Marriott at 4020 Greensboro Ave. opened this week. It is the third new hotel to open in Tuscaloosa this year. Three more hotels are also in the planning stages.
